My folks.

Guess which one is my dad?

Here is a picture of my mom from around the same time.

New work at work

CSA Box

We got the first of our weekly produce share from Scotch Hill Farms. It was a little overwhelming when we first opened it up. This weeks box contains:
  • Leaf Lettuce Mix
  • Spinach
  • Bright Lights Chard (a cousin of spinach, great in all the same types of dishes or a salad)
  • Haukuri turnips ( you can eat greens, too; they have wonderful cancer-fighting properties)
  • Spring onions
  • Radishes
  • Chives
  • Oregano
It must be fresh because I found a live slug in the lettuce. I highly recommend it.

Big salads and some fancy mashed potatoes for dinner.

New Signs for Work

This is Kent's work. This scene with the cat here is unusually detailed.

That beer is awfully close to that baby kangaroo. Is that sending the wrong message?

Two puns in one sign. Wow!

This sign is two-sided, so I drew the lady at the top twice. I think I made her look at least ten years older the second time:

Another pun. Everybody loves puns.

Usually Kent and I stick to making cute cartoon animals. This lady is the sexiest cartoon drawing we've ever done, although I suggested the conservative 1950's style bathing suit (she originally had a two piece). Still, she is depicted mid-bounce on a pogo-stick, implying a certain amount of jiggly excitement.

New Painting

This is a housing complex in Park Ridge, IL at Halloween. Everyone living there had a satellite dish. All the round shapes seemed packed in there and overwhelming.

Billy Squier

So here is Billy Squier. His song, The Big Beat (1980), has been sampled by Run DMC and is generally pretty catchy:

In just a few short years he released "Rock Me Tonite". According to Wikipedia, it was Squier's biggest pop hit. However, the video, which shows Squier dancing around a bedroom in a pink tank top, frequently appears on "worst music video ever" lists:

Now you know.
